My Heart Just Melted

For a while now, I have been trying to teach Parker how to give a kiss good-night. I ask for a kiss (usually several times) and eventually he will lean forward to my mouth with his mouth WIDE OPEN for his "kiss". It is wet and slobbery and I wouldn't trade it for anything. But tonight, when I was getting him ready for bed, he did something different and I had to write it down so I wouldn't forget how special it was.
Parker has been teething in a bad way lately. It seems to bother him mostly at night around bed time. You can tell it hurts because he whines and whimpers, wants to be cuddled (not normal for him) and will let me rock to sleep while singing quietly to him. While we were sharing this quite time together, he lifted his little head from my shoulder with the sweetest look (I swear little hearts were shooting out of his eyes) and proceeded to give me his version of a kiss all on his own! I did not have to ask him for it at all. I swear my heart melted to mush at that very instant.
